On introductory interviews.
This was fun - many thanks to Ju Er Wong for pulling this together, and for putting up with my tardiness.
For those curious about the various references in the interview:
a) on ramen: my favourite ramen in the world¹ is the niboshi ramen from Ramen Nagi [https://lnkd.in/g4fGjnTD]. They do have a Singapore location, but it only serves tonkotsu ramen (weeps).
b) on reading: for those who enjoy reading, but who are not acquainted with the National Library Board app, Libby [https://lnkd.in/gRhsVGVs], please do check it out. It is genuinely life-changing to be able to access a whole universe of books at your fingertips for free.²
c) on wakeboarding: did you know that in Singapore, you can go wakeboarding anytime between 10am and 8pm, 7 days a week, without booking a boat beforehand or travelling out to Punggol / Sembawang / Tuas? That's at the one and only Singapore Wake Park,³ located at East Coast Park [https://lnkd.in/gtdk7puq].

¹ How much do I love it? Well, the last time I spent 3 days in Tokyo, I ate there twice - both times, I snuck out after the kids went to bed.
And the last time I transited at Haneda, I was sorely tempted to run out of the terminal (lounge access be damned!), take a taxi to the nearest joint (half an hour away), slurp down a bowl of ramen, then rush back to the airport to catch my connecting flight. Alas, reason prevailed.
² Based on my loan records, from June 2023 to March 2024, I've read more than 300 books (not counting magazines / comics). I wasn't exaggerating when I said I read a lot.
³ So, here's a bonus for those who bother reading my footnotes. I have a number of stored hours left at the wake park, which I need to use up by August. For those who are interested in trying something new or riding with me - weekdays only! - please leave a comment or PM me. We'll arrange to hang out and you'll get to ride for free. While stocks last.
